In less than two weeks, Americans will go to the polls to elect the 47th president of the United States. The ultimate contest will be between Kamala Harris, who could become the first woman in history to hold this esteemed position, and Donald Trump, who is seeking re-election. Pre-election polls suggest a slight lead for the Republican Party candidate.

Support levels may shift following Kamala Harris's rally on Friday, which was organised in Houston. Nearly 30,000 people gathered at the local stadium to warmly welcome Beyoncé, who has long been regarded as one of the most influential American women.

Beyoncé declared her vote for Kamala Harris

The singer visited her hometown accompanied by her friend and fellow Destiny's Child member, Kelly Rowland. The duo was introduced by the artist's mother, Tina Knowles, as they took the stage to the sound of their 24-year-old song with a significant title in the context of the upcoming elections, "Independent Women, Part I." As she declared, she did not accept the invitation to the pre-election event due to her celebrity status.

I’m not here as a celebrity, I’m not here as a politician. I’m here as a mother. A mother who cares deeply about the world my children and all of our children live in, a world where we have the freedom to control our bodies, a world where we’re not divided - she began her speech as the crowd cheered and applauded.

Beyoncé urged her fellow citizens to turn out at the polls on 5th November.

Imagine our daughters growing up seeing what’s possible with no ceilings, no limitations. We must vote, and we need you - she added as she concluded.

The artist introduced Kamala Harris as "the next President of the United States". The former right-hand woman of Joe Biden was welcomed with the song "Freedom" from Beyoncé's repertoire, which has been used since her first official public appearance as a candidate for the White House.
