An American Airlines flight to Dallas encountered a dangerous incident when a Canadian passenger tried to leave the plane mid-flight. The man requested that a flight attendant open the door and, when refused, became aggressive.

Noticing the man's aggressive behaviour, passengers decided to intervene. With the assistance of the crew, they employed duct tape to restrain the unruly traveller. The man was secured and spent the remainder of the flight lying down.

Upon landing in Dallas, the passenger was handed over to medical services. The flight attendant who attempted to restrain the man sustained injuries to the wrist and neck and was taken to hospital.

Investigation into the incident

The Federal Aviation Administration has initiated an investigation into the matter. No arrests have been made yet, but American Airlines is cooperating with authorities to clarify the circumstances surrounding the event.

An American Airlines spokesperson emphasised that the safety of passengers and crew is a priority. "The safety and security of our customers and team members is our top priority and we thank our team members and customers for managing a difficult situation," they stated in a release.
