Celine Dion is a legendary figure in Eurovision's history, having won the competition in 1988. Representing Switzerland, she performed the iconic song "Ne Partez Pas Sans Moi." Her victory was a significant milestone for the competition, restoring its glory and reputation.

It’s perhaps not surprising, then, that when the show returned to Switzerland, thanks to last year's winner, Nemo, expectations for Celine Dion's involvement were high. In March, a Eurovision spokesperson stated that they were in contact with her but emphasised that "health comes first."

He added at the time that he didn't want to comment on rumours regarding a potential concert. While all the representatives are participating in rehearsals, shocking news emerged in the media by the Rhine. The portal Blick reported that there is a chance the esteemed artist might make an appearance.

It has been reported that the show's producers have already started rehearsals, although the artist herself is not participating; she is being represented by a double. It remains unknown whether these reports are accurate, and other possibilities are being considered to commemorate her success from 37 years ago.

Celine Dion may appear in the Eurovision final via an online connection to greet viewers. Another option is a pre-recorded speech. Each solution would undoubtedly be a treat for her fans.

What is Celine Dion suffering from?

The singer, known for hits such as "I'm Alive," "My Heart Will Go On," and "The Power of Love," is dealing with a serious health condition. In 2022, doctors diagnosed her with Moersch-Woltman syndrome, a neurological and autoimmune disorder.

Symptoms include, among others, painful muscle spasms that interfere with walking, singing, and many other activities. For the singer, who has performed on stage for many years, this has meant almost entirely giving up her music career.
