Dietitian-approved apple cake: Low‑calorie, quick, and delicious
Baked goods with apples are always a hit. They immediately evoke the warmth of a family home, as apple cakes have been made for years and never lose their appeal. Each of us has our own version of such a cake, and this flavour is also cherished by a well-known dietitian, whose recipe is simple and low in calories.
Quick apple-based baked goods are perfect when we're short on time. Often, we just add pieces of fruit to a plain cake or sponge cake. With just a few basic ingredients, such as flour, sugar, eggs, and, of course, apples, you can create a delicious dessert to please any palate.
Best apples for baking
Choosing the right apples for your cake is crucial for achieving the perfect taste and texture in the bake. For a diet-friendly cake, as well as other apple pies, sour varieties like Antonovka or Grey Reinette are excellent choices. They hold their shape during baking and add a distinct flavour. Their tartness perfectly balances the sweetness of the cake.
