Creating live-action films based on cherished animations has become a trend that has captivated Hollywood and audiences globally in recent years. Classic tales, renowned for their delightful illustrations and magical childhood reminiscences, are given new life through contemporary technologies, special effects, and star-studded casts. Productions like "Aladdin", "The Lion King", and "Beauty and the Beast" demonstrate that revitalising familiar stories can be not only a nostalgic journey but also an engaging new experience.

For some, these films are a tribute to the originals — a means to revisit magical moments from the past in a fresh, more realistic way. For others, they are a precarious undertaking, wherein it is easy to lose the essence of the original animation. Modern adaptations strive to balance allegiance to the original with a novel perspective, which provokes mixed reactions from both audiences and critics. However, one thing is certain: live-action films based on animations possess an undeniable allure — they span generations, stir emotions, and allow us to relive familiar tales.

Disney reveals its hand regarding "Snow White"

There has been longstanding speculation about the live-action version of "Snow White". The role of Disney's iconic heroine is played by Rachel Zegler, who is recognised for "The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes." Meanwhile, the part of the Evil Queen is assumed by Wonder Woman Gal Gadot. Although opinions on the casting choices are diverse, work towards the premiere is advancing, and with it, more details are emerging in the media.

On 3 December, the creators of "Snow White" released the official poster promoting the film along with the first trailer. Viewers can now see Gal Gadot embodying the Evil Queen, as well as the dwarfs, who have sparked notable controversy due to their gender identity. The world premiere of "Snow White" is set for 21 March 2025.
