Ducati unveils its most advanced Streetfighter yet: V4 revealed
Ducati is concluding the year 2024 with an intriguing premiere: the new Streetfighter V4, derived from the seventh generation Panigale V4. It has never been this extreme.
Ducati highlights that the Streetfighter V4 is the fastest and most sophisticated naked bike in the company's history. The machine weighs 189 kg and is powered by a 214 horsepower Desmosedici Stradale engine. This equates to a power-to-weight ratio of 1.13 HP/kg.
The new Streetfighter has become akin to the Panigale, not only in terms of the engine. It incorporates the same chassis and electronics, essentially making the Streetfighter a Panigale with a naked body.
This is an exhilarating and highly modern motorcycle whose engine complies with the Euro 5+ standard. Its advanced electronic and chassis features, such as the Ducati Vehicle Observer (DVO), Öhlins Smart EC3.0 suspension, and Race eCBS system, make the new Streetfighter V4 even more efficient on the track while remaining user-friendly in everyday use.
The manufacturer has considered the comfort of taller riders and improved ergonomics by repositioning the handlebars and footpegs approximately 1 cm back. The air intakes have also been redesigned to enhance thermal comfort around the legs.
The front frame has been slimmed down while simultaneously increasing its stiffness. The same was done with the rear swingarm. The rider can also choose from ride modes that alter the suspension characteristics. An interesting feature is the "Cruise Detection" system, which automatically adjusts to softer suspension settings when detecting a steady pace, such as during motorway riding.
Just like the new Ducati Panigale V4, the Streetfighter V4 features front Brembo Hypure™ brake calipers, which are lighter (approximately 0.05 kg per pair compared to the Stylema of the previous model) and more efficient, effectively dissipating heat generated during braking. The Race eCBS system is standard with cornering functionality, modulating brake action to improve ride stability.
Furthermore, the Streetfighter V4 is equipped with systems such as: Ducati Traction Control DVO, Ducati Slide Control, Ducati Wheelie Control DVO, Ducati Power Launch DVO, Engine Brake Control, and Ducati Quick Shift 2.0.
A 17.5 cm display with customisable parameters, navigation, and multimedia enhances its modern appeal. It also includes cruise control and heated grips.
We should learn the full specifications at the time of its market launch, which will occur in the coming months.
