Emirates praised for best in‑flight meals, Ryanair falls short

Food served on aeroplanes has always stirred emotions among travellers. The latest study by market research company YouGov reveals which airlines offer the best and worst meals. Emirates received the highest ratings for snacks and drinks, as well as onboard meals. And the worst?

In the ranking of airlines serving the best food, Emirates took the top spot. As many as 84% of passengers positively rated the snacks onboard, and 85% were satisfied with the meals.

Ryanair with the worst onboard food

Qatar Airways (recognised as the best airline in 2024), ranked second in this list. 83% of passengers praised the snacks, and 82% were satisfied with the meals. Virgin Atlantic closed the top three with 74% positive ratings for drinks and snacks and 73% for meals.

At the other end of the scale is Ryanair, whose food was rated the worst. Only 21% of passengers considered the snacks good, and as many as 50% rated the meals as "poor."

Wizz Air also did not fare well, with only 25% of passengers satisfied with the snacks and drinks. The onboard meals also failed to impress, receiving 40% negative ratings.

The best airport in the world is Singapore Changi Airport

EasyJet was in the bottom three with 35% positive ratings for snacks and drinks and 29% for meals. In another ranking, Jet2 won an award for the most friendly onboard service, while British Airways performed worse.

In the airport category, Singapore Changi Airport was recognised as the best in the world in 2025, while no British airport made it into the top twenty.
