Kallas stressed that the European Union, together with all 27 member states, strongly denounces the violent terrorist attack that took place in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, on April 22, as well as the killing of innocent civilians.

The European Union unequivocally condemned the terrorist attack in Pahalgam. Kaja Kallas, head of the EU's diplomacy, stressed that terrorism can never be justified. She also expressed hope that all those responsible for the attack will face justice.

Kallas emphasized that it is both the responsibility and the sovereign right of every nation to safeguard its citizens from terrorism, provided it is done within the bounds of the law.

Call for dialogue

Kallas urged India and Pakistan to exercise restraint and refrain from further attacks. She emphasised that dialogue is crucial for resolving the conflict and avoiding an escalation of violence.
