Ukrainian military intelligence (HUR) reported that an explosion occurred overnight on 30 May 2025, on a railway route near the town of Yakymivka. As a result of this incident, a Russian military train, which was transporting fuel and other cargo, derailed. The train was headed towards temporarily occupied Crimea.

What are the consequences for Russian logistics?

"A key logistical artery of the Muscovites (i.e., Russia - PAP) on the occupied territories of the Zaporizhzhia region and Crimea has been disrupted," the statement emphasised.

The military intelligence did not disclose whether it was responsible for the incident, but - as Reuters reminds us - in the past, it has repeatedly admitted to attacks carried out on targets deep within Russian territory.

Railway incidents in Russia: two bridges blown up

Overnight in the Bryansk and Kursk regions, two serious accidents occurred on the tracks.

At approximately 9 PM, according to Russian authorities, a bridge over the railway line in the Bryansk region was blown up. A passenger train carrying 388 people happened to be passing underneath it. Seven people were killed, and 69 were injured.

Four hours later, around 1 AM, there was an explosion on a railway bridge running over a highway in the neighbouring Kursk region. As a result of the explosion, an arriving locomotive derailed.
