Parken Stadium in Copenhagen is gearing up for a unique event. During the match against FC Nordsjælland, fans will throw thousands of inflatable toys onto the pitch. This tradition has been ongoing for 21 years and is an integral part of the last match of the season in the Danish Superliga.

In the 13th minute of the match, the referee traditionally pauses the game, allowing fans to begin throwing inflatable crocodiles, dinosaurs, and other toys. However, this year, due to the tense situation in the league table, the fun has been rescheduled for half-time. FC Copenhagen leads with 60 points, while FC Midtjylland is just one point behind.

The tradition started in 2004 when the stadium's management company took over the Lalandia water park. Fans of Brøndby IF referred to FCK supporters as "beach animals," which the club transformed into an annual fun event. The inflatable toys were later given to the fans' children.

Excitement on the pitch

The excitement could last until the end. This is a match where only a win matters to us, and only it can secure us the national championship. The club informed that they couldn't afford to pause such an important match for several minutes in the first half. Therefore, despite tradition, the game couldn't be paused in the first half.

Tickets for this unique match are always sold out. Fans come with their entire families, and the children are the most delighted. There are so many inflatable toys that you sometimes can't see the audience behind them. As you can see, it's not only about the sporting excitement but also an opportunity for fun and integration.
