Trump announced tariffs. France has a plan

Spokesperson Primas suggested that an "attack on American digital services" is possible as part of the response to the imposed tariffs. This could mean that France and the EU are considering actions that may affect American technology companies operating in Europe. These decisions will be discussed during President Macron's meeting with representatives of sectors that will be affected by the new tariffs.

- France will respond to US tariffs together with Europe. Initially through negotiations, because we are not the source of these trade attacks. Then, if necessary, through a European response - said the French government spokesperson on the RTL station.

EU affected by Trump's tariffs. Reactions from other countries

The US decision to introduce tariffs has been widely criticised internationally. Leaders of many countries, including Australia, Japan, China, the UK, and Italy, have expressed their discontent. China adamantly opposes additional US tariffs of 34% on imports from China. Beijing called on Americans to retract them immediately, threatening retaliation.

The President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, also announced a response to the imposed tariffs.
