  • During the G7 summit in Canada, a meeting between Volodymyr Zelensky and Donald Trump is planned.
  • According to Andriy Yermak, preparations for it are ongoing.
  • The head of the Ukrainian president's office also emphasised that the USA continues to support Kyiv.

Yermak, who visited Washington the past week, noted on Ukrainian television that the visit of the Ukrainian delegation was a crucial stage in the preparations for the meeting of the presidents.

During talks in Washington, key issues were discussed, such as further military support, including missile defence systems, and economic cooperation, Yermak explained.

President Zelensky affirmed that Ukraine is ready to purchase weapons and equipment as part of joint programmes, strengthening its defence capabilities through strategic cooperation with international partners.

Additionally, Yermak revealed that during the talks, the topic of sanctions policy against Russia was discussed. Ukraine hopes that the US Senate will support the bill to tighten sanctions against Russia, including so-called secondary sanctions against countries and companies helping to bypass restrictions. This is a concrete step towards reducing Russia's revenues from the sale of oil and other energy resources - he said.

Yermak stressed that Ukraine is pursuing a coordinated approach on both the military and diplomatic fronts. In cooperation with its allies, the country is intensifying pressure on the aggressor and working to unite the democratic world in support of Ukraine.
