Is Donald Trump's presidency discouraging some tourists from visiting the USA? Such a conclusion seems to arise from a survey published on Tuesday by the Forsa institute for German television RTL/ntv. Forty-three per cent of those surveyed admit that a trip to the USA is only possible once Donald Trump is no longer in office. Fourteen per cent generally exclude the possibility of a holiday in the United States altogether.

Meanwhile, forty-one per cent of respondents stated that they would choose to holiday in the USA even now.

The greatest reluctance among Green Party supporters

According to the survey, the greatest reluctance to travel to the United States is seen among supporters of the Green Party; only fourteen per cent of them would go to the country currently, while seventy-six per cent reject such a possibility. Additionally, the majority of supporters of the Social Democratic SPD and the CDU/CSU conservatives would not want to travel to the United States during Trump's term.

It is entirely different among supporters of the populist-right AfD: seventy-five per cent admit they would like to go to the USA even during Donald Trump's presidency, and only seven per cent would not.

Particularly, those who have already holidayed in the USA are cautious. Fifty-six per cent of them would not go there again now.

Recently, the German Foreign Ministry changed the travel recommendations to the USA and pointed out the risks during entry to the country and the possibility of deportation.
