It is best to use homemade gingerbread spice. It also works well for baking or warming tea. When choosing a ready-made mix in the shop, pay attention to its ingredients. It should consist only of spices, without fillers such as flour or starch.

Ingredients:

  • 5 tablespoons of oats,
  • 1 package of skyr yoghurt,
  • half a teaspoon of gingerbread spice,
  • half a teaspoon of cocoa,
  • an orange or tangerines,
  • favourite nuts,
  • honey to taste.

Instructions:

  1. Put the oats, cocoa, and gingerbread spice in a pot. Add water - there should be twice as much water as oats.
  2. Cook until soft. If necessary, add more water.
  3. Mix with vanilla or natural skyr and honey, then transfer to a bowl.
  4. Top with filleted citrus pieces (without the peel) and sprinkle with chopped nuts.

Simple gingerbread oatmeal is now ready. If you like an intense flavour, you can add more spices. Walnuts or pecans make great toppings. This oatmeal tastes great, whether hot or cold. Enjoy!
