  • President Donald Trump announced on Thursday that a meeting of representatives from Russia, Ukraine, and the USA will be held in Munich on Friday. Ukraine does not foresee talks with the Russian side on Friday in Munich, Dmytro Lytvyn, the communication adviser to the Ukrainian president, said.
  • The White House reported on Thursday that US Secretary of State Marco Rubio discussed the need for bold diplomacy with his Ukrainian counterpart Andriy Sybiha to end the war and achieve lasting peace. The diplomat also emphasized the US commitment to Ukraine's independence.
  • Finland advocates convening an extraordinary European Union leaders' summit on Ukraine - said Prime Minister Petteri Orpo during a speech in parliament in Helsinki on Thursday.
  • In an interview with the Financial Times, French President Emmanuel Macron warned against a peace in Ukraine that would be tantamount to capitulation. He doubted whether Russian leader Vladimir Putin is genuinely ready for a lasting ceasefire.
