Recipe for sauerkraut slaw with honey-mustard dressing

This version of sauerkraut slaw with honey-mustard dressing proves that sometimes small changes in a recipe can bring amazing results. It's a blend of tradition with a touch of modernity that surprises with flavour and fits perfectly into both everyday and festive menus.

Ingredients:

  • 300g sauerkraut,
  • 1 red onion,
  • 1 carrot,
  • 1 tart apple,
  • 1 teaspoon honey,
  • 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard,
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil,
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice,
  • salt and freshly ground pepper (to taste).

Preparation:

  1. Finely chop the sauerkraut if it's too long, and place it in a bowl.
  2. Peel the red onion, cut it into thin slices, and add to the sauerkraut.
  3. Grate the carrot and apple using a large-hole grater, then mix with the other ingredients.
  4. In a separate bowl, prepare the dressing – mix honey, mustard, olive oil, and lemon juice, then season with salt and pepper.
  5. Pour the dressing over the slaw and mix thoroughly. Let it sit for 15 minutes to allow the flavours to meld.
