How Taylor Momsen traded film fame for rock stardom
The movie "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" featuring Jim Carrey certainly deserves recognition as a holiday classic. It has been 24 years since its premiere, where Taylor Momsen was merely six years old at the time.
Taylor Momsen was a young girl attending a Catholic school, meeting her parents' expectations, though it didn't bring her happiness. In one interview, she revealed her parents enrolled her with the renowned Ford modelling agency when she was just two years old.
- No 2-year-old wants to be working, but I had no choice. My whole life, I was in and out of school. I didn't have friends. I was working constantly and I didn't have a real life - she shared.
Momsen's journey in front of the camera began at the age of three, primarily featuring in commercials. A breakthrough role came with her performance in "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" in 2000. As a young actress, she later starred in productions such as "We Were Soldiers" with Mel Gibson, "Spy Kids II," and "Hansel and Gretel."
As she matured, Momsen became less interested in acting and modelling. At 16, she decided to follow her passions and embarked on a music career, joining the rock band The Pretty Reckless.
- With music, I can be myself - said the singer, who transformed from a reserved girl into a rock rebel. Her new daring outfits, bold makeup, and high heels garnered many fans.
Taylor's popularity is on the rise, as evidenced by her 2.2 million followers on Instagram, with concerts around the world drawing in large crowds.
Regarding her acting career, her last significant TV project was the series "Gossip Girl," in which she starred from 2007 to 2012. She now primarily dedicates herself to producing her music videos.
