Is the Sussex marriage on the rocks? Harry speaks out
Is the marriage of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle falling apart before our eyes? There is increasing speculation about problems in their relationship. Once inseparable, they are now frequently appearing publicly alone. The Sussexes commented on the rumours in a conversation with the New York Times.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been married for six years and are building a life for themselves in the USA, away from royal duties. It is there that their two children, Archie and Lilibet, are being raised. However, there is growing talk about a cooling of relations between them. Usually seen together, they are now more often spotted at events separately. Recently, the actress posed on the red carpet with actor Tyler Perry during a film premiere in California, while her husband was in New York at the same time.
Marital crisis?
Prince Harry decided to address the matter to put an end to all speculation once and for all. This week, he appeared at an event organised by The New York Times. In response to whether the constant media interest in his private life is beneficial, he referred to the circulating rumours about an impending divorce.
No, that’s definitely not a good thing. Apparently we’ve bought or moved house 10, 12 times. We’ve apparently divorced maybe 10, 12 times as well. So it’s just like, what?, he said, laughing.
As someone who grew up in the spotlight, he spoke about how he copes with it.
It’s hard to keep up with, but that’s why you just sort of ignore it, he added.
The prince's statements were likely aimed at stopping the speculation and assuring the media that their marriage is not currently in crisis. Has he convinced you?
