Why does the dishwasher not wash dishes thoroughly and an unpleasant smell comes from inside it? There can be many causes. These may include technical issues, such as a damaged solenoid valve, a detergent dispenser malfunction, or a washing pump failure. More often, however, it's due to a lack of regular appliance cleaning, leading to food residue and deposits accumulating in hard-to-reach places. Here are some tips on how to address these problems.

How to take care of your dishwasher?

After washing is complete, it is a good idea to open the dishwasher door to allow the interior to air out and speed up the drying of the dishes. It's also worth regularly checking the condition of the drainage and supply hoses to ensure they are in good shape. It is recommended that the dishwasher filter be cleaned at least once a week, and a sanitising cleaning should be performed once a month.

To get rid of the unpleasant smell from the dishwasher's interior, you can use a lemon. Simply cut it into thick slices, remove the seeds, place it on the dishwasher racks, and run a short cycle without loading any dishes. After just one cycle, you will notice a fresh scent, and the inside of the dishwasher will shine thanks to the lemon's action of removing deposits. And what about the poorly washed dishes?
