Jennifer Lopez dazzles in a "naked" dress at the MET Gala 2024
Phenomenal, sensual, subtle, and charming. Jennifer Lopez made the world pause momentarily to focus solely on admiring her outfit. The co-host of this year's MET Gala appeared on the famous stairs in a "naked" dress from the Italian fashion house Schiaparelli atelier.
The first Monday of May – in fashion, there is no more important day. Each year, the theme of the MET Gala is directly related to the exhibition's opening at the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute in New York City. In 2024, it is titled "Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion" and encompasses 50 designs that epitomize 400 years of fashion history.
The ceremonial gala was hosted by Zendaya, Jennifer Lopez, Bad Bunny, and Chris Hemsworth at Anna Wintour's request. Although Zendaya showcased two dramatic outfits, Jennifer Lopez undoubtedly stole the show, even though she didn't introduce anything new. She stepped onto the beige-green carpet in a "naked" dress.

If you thought the era of "naked" dresses was coming to an end, you were mistaken. Jennifer Lopez proved that it can be done well, and sheer elements and subtlety are not antagonists but a harmonious duo.
At the same time, she overshadowed Beyoncé from 2015 and Kim Kardashian from 2019, who had chosen "naked dresses" for the MET Gala. The music star and this year's co-host chose a creation by the fashion house Schiaparelli.
Shining beads totalling about 2.5 million created the effect of roots and branches adorned with leaves—no wonder the dress's manual embroidery took about 800 hours. The dress, fitting snugly at the hips, featured an original neckline and a train. Beige, velvet peep-toe platform shoes and a matching clutch complemented the whole.

However, the icing on the cake in J.Lo's styling was jewellery from Tiffany's. The attention was particularly drawn to a necklace with a wing motif, in which a 20-carat diamond was placed.
It is also worth noting that the star's beauty team knew what they were doing, opting for subtle makeup and a hairstyle that exuded naturalness. This way, Jennifer Lopez aced the Sleeping Beauty test with flying colours.
