Jennifer Lopez's 2024 recap omits Affleck as divorce looms
A grand premiere for Netflix, family moments, red carpets, and music videos. Jennifer Lopez had much to reflect on in her 2024 recap, although she overlooked her ex-husband.
Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck's relationship has been one of the most tumultuous in Hollywood. Their first attempt, in the early 2000s, ended unsuccessfully. Years later, their paths crossed again, leading to their wedding in July 2022. However, the initial euphoria quickly waned, culminating in a crisis at the beginning of 2024. Divorce papers reveal they have been officially separated since April.
Lopez appears to want to forget Ben
Jennifer Lopez posted a video on Instagram summarising her most significant moments of 2024. However, the video did not include her husband, Ben Affleck, from whom she is currently divorcing. The "2024" video featured clips from her live performances, film premieres, and events like the Met Gala.
The recap also showcased personal moments of Lopez, including scenes from her documentary "This Is Me… Now: A Love Story," inspired by her relationship with Affleck. Yet, Affleck himself did not appear in the video.
In her video, Lopez highlighted that despite her challenges last year, she is proud of how she managed them. She also added, "the best is yet to come."
The video also featured shots from Lopez's family life, including moments with her 16-year-old twins, Max and Emme, and her 55th birthday celebration in a Bridgerton-style. It also showed snippets from her European trip and appearances at Kamala Harris's rally. You can watch the video below.
While Lopez spent the holidays with her family in Aspen, Affleck celebrated with Garner and their children. Media reports suggest Affleck spent time with his ex-wife because of their shared children. Despite the divorce, the couple has remained on friendly terms for years. It is worth recalling that the stars began dating in 2004. They had met earlier on the set of "Pearl Harbour" and "Daredevil." They married in June 2005 during a private ceremony held by Turks and Caicos Islands. They have three children: Violet Anne Affleck (born in 2005), Fina Affleck, and Samuel Garner Affleck. The couple divorced in 2015, but they did not sever ties. Garner supported her ex-husband through his struggles with alcohol and pornography addiction.
