Luka Modrić and Carlo Ancelotti: Farewells at Real Madrid
Luka Modrić and Carlo Ancelotti were honoured by Real Madrid fans. The legendary player and the Royal Whites' coach appeared for the last time at Santiago Bernabeu in their roles. The fans prepared a farewell befitting legends for them.
Luka Modrić's journey with Real Madrid began in 2012. The Croatian joined the Royal Whites from Tottenham, and interestingly, the Catalan newspaper "Sport" labelled him "the biggest transfer flop" of that transfer window.
Jose Mourinho, who was responsible for bringing Luka Modrić to Santiago Bernabeu, said during a press conference: "I ask the fans to give Modrić time." And he was right. As a result, the Croatian leaves Real Madrid as the most decorated player in the club's history, having won 28 trophies in 591 matches.
