This is a tried-and-true recipe for a breakfast that will delight your loved ones. According to some sources, the name "Kaiser" originates from the German word "Kaiser", which means emperor. These rolls can definitely make you feel royal.

Recipe for Kaiser rolls

Ingredients:

  • 20g fresh yeast,
  • 1 teaspoon sugar,
  • 240ml water,
  • 240g plain flour,
  • 1 pinch of salt,
  • 1 egg,
  • 70g melted butter.

Herb butter

  • 1 clove of garlic,
  • 100g butter,
  • 1/3 cup chopped chives,
  • 1/3 cup chopped parsley,
  • 1 small shallot,
  • 1/3 teaspoon salt.

Instructions:

Step 1. Crumble the yeast into warm water, add a tablespoon of flour and sugar, and stir. Let the mixture sit for 15 minutes to rise. It should at least double in volume.

Step 2. Meanwhile, prepare the herb butter. Peel and crush the garlic, then add it to the softened butter. Add the finely chopped onion, chives, parsley, and salt, and mix thoroughly.

Step 3. Sift the remaining flour into a bowl, add salt, egg, melted butter, and the risen yeast. Knead a smooth, uniform dough for the rolls. Set aside for an hour to rise.
