The Maserati GranCabrio is undoubtedly one of the more interesting creations of modern Italian automotive design. Well-maintained specimens can be quite a treat for car enthusiasts. This one hasn't been kept in good condition, but it boasts a very interesting history.

This is the car that James May drove through Mauritania in the penultimate episode of "The Grand Tour." Jeremy Clarkson chose a Jaguar F-Type, Richard Hammond an Aston Martin DB9, and May the Maserati. The cars were heavily modified to withstand the harsh conditions of the Sahara Desert - hence the clearly increased ground clearance, off-road tyres, and additional undercarriage protection.

Now, the unique Maserati has been put up for sale. A few days ago, it appeared on the British eBay. According to the seller, "it looks exactly the same as it did on the day it returned to the UK after filming ended." It was stored indoors but was never washed.

Unfortunately, the car cannot be used on public roads due to the modifications made. However, it is doubtful that a potential buyer would have an issue with this.
