Kylian Mbappé's transfer to Real Madrid was one of the most anticipated recent years. Fans had been speculating about it since 2017, and it finally materialized seven years later. After years of success with Paris Saint-Germain, the Frenchman joined Carlo Ancelotti's team.

The start of the 25-year-old's journey with the Royals is far from expected. Although he scored 11 goals and made two assists in 21 matches so far, he did not lead his team to victories in the most important and challenging matches of the season. His on-field performance puzzled fans and the media, and off-field issues began to be considered potential causes.

Kylian Mbappé spoke out on depression

The situation surrounding Kylian Mbappé became very tense, prompting him to agree to an interview with the French branch of Canal+. He addressed, among other things, a question about reports that he was suffering from depression. He denied it but admitted there were times when he was tired.

I’m not depressed. Of course, I’ve had some problems, some exhaustion, some troubles, but I’m not depressed, and people shouldn’t be saying that because a lot of people actually suffer from depression - said Kylian Mbappé.

The journalist inquired about the not-so-great start to the season for the Frenchman and the entire Real Madrid team. The 25-year-old calmly assured that everything is moving in the right direction, and he is not worried about improving results.

We're here. It's not the best start to the season, but we're preparing for the trophies that will count. We've already won the European Super Cup. It's not up to what we expected, but at Real, we wait in the second half of the season. That's where you'll be judged - added the Frenchman.
