One reason for its sudden fame is its record at the Top Gear track. The McMurtry Spéirling navigated the challenging course at the Dunsfold airfield in 55.9 seconds. Behind this remarkable achievement is not only an incredibly powerful electric motor but also some technical innovations.

The creators of the vehicle decided to use an underbody fan that generates a substantial downforce, equivalent to about 2,000 kilograms. This effect is achieved even while stationary. The device makes the car literally adhere to the surface. Anyway, see for yourself.

The McMurtry Spéirling is the first car capable of driving upside down without relying on aerodynamic downforce. This is not a feature you would use in everyday life. However, it certainly showcases the technical prowess of its design.

Production of the McMurtry Spéirling Pure will be limited to 100 units, with deliveries planned for 2025. The car, intended solely for track use, is not road legal, and its price is £820,000, which is approximately $1.1 million.
