Microsoft announced higher prices for Xbox consoles, effective 1st May. The price hikes are global, which means that the hardware will also become more expensive in our region. All versions of the current generation of Xbox consoles will increase by €50, approximately £43.

New prices for Xbox and controllers

The price increases apply to consoles and controllers. Microsoft has informed that headset sets will only rise in the United States and Canada. Some controllers, such as the Adaptive Controller and Adaptive Joystick, will remain at the same price.

Microsoft's decision to raise the prices of Xbox consoles comes a few weeks after Sony announced new prices for the PS5. In Sony’s case, the price hikes affect the PS5 Digital Edition, while the disc version and the PS5 Pro remain unchanged. Moreover, the standalone drive has become cheaper.

How much for an Xbox console?

  • Xbox Series S 512GB – approximately £326
  • Xbox Series S 1TB – approximately £372
  • Xbox Series X Digital – approximately £511
  • Xbox Series X – approximately £557
  • Xbox Series X 2TB Galaxy Black Special Edition – approximately £650

In its official statement, Microsoft emphasised that the price changes have been made with due diligence, taking into account market conditions and rising development costs.
