Mike Berry died at the age of 82 in his family home. He passed away peacefully in bed, surrounded by his loved ones. The singer, who was one of the icons of music in the United Kingdom, was bid farewell by fans and manager Peter Stockton.

Peter Stockton described him as an exceptional musician with a huge heart and reminded everyone of his 64-year-long career. He admitted it's a significant loss for the entertainment world, but he trusts the deceased "is now having a laugh with many of his old pals up in Heaven". Another friend of the late star expressed similar sentiments on Facebook.

I knew Mike for almost 50 years since 1976, one of the nicest guys in the biz always with a laugh and a smile. His excellent sold out show at the Half Moon Putney was only a few weeks ago, he was on terrific form and was due to do another one in the summer. Very, very sad news indeed, RIP Mike you will be missed by everyone who knew you and your music for all these years — wrote David Stark.

Although Mike Berry was a veteran, his death came as quite a surprise. His last concert was on 23rd February this year. Tickets for the show at The Half Moon in London sold out, indicating that despite the passing years, his music still captivated audiences.

He had ambitious plans to continue a series of performances in the summer; however, this will no longer be possible. Fans fondly remember the times he appeared on the same stage as legends like The Beatles and The Rolling Stones.

He promoted several hits, including "Don’t You Think It’s Time" and "Tribute to Buddy Holly". In 1980, a cover of the song "The Sunshine of Your Smile" reached the top positions on British charts.
