NATO aircraft intercept Russian plane over Baltic Sea
NATO Allied Air Command reported on platform X on Monday that Swedish and German military aircraft intercepted a Russian Il-20 reconnaissance plane (NATO code: Coot-A) over the Baltic Sea on Saturday.

The operation involved a Swedish JAS Gripen aircraft, which took off from a Swedish base, and German Eurofighter jets scrambled from Latvia. Both participated in patrolling the airspace of the Baltic countries.
"The interception, which was coordinated by NATO, demonstrated perfect integration of activities within the Alliance," the statement emphasised.
