During his visit to America, the Hungarian Prime Minister met with the US President-elect, Donald Trump, and billionaire Elon Musk. The meeting took place at Trump's Mar-a-Lago residence in Florida, as reported by Bertalan Havasi, the press secretary of the Hungarian government, according to the MTI agency.

Peter Szijjarto, the Foreign Minister and Trade, and Gellert Jaszai, the CEO of the Hungarian technology company 4iG accompanied Orban.

Hungarian media did not disclose the subjects of the discussions, but they speculate that the talks might have addressed the regulation of the Russian occupation of parts of Ukraine.

Orban at the helm of a "peace mission"?

Since Trump's victory in the elections, Orban and the US president-elect have had several phone conversations.

Commentators on the portal nepszava.hu suggest that Trump's return to the White House might offer Orban an opportunity for a more significant role in international politics.

There is a possibility that Orban could undertake a peace mission to Kyiv and Moscow, conveying "Donald Trump's message" regarding ending the war in Ukraine.
