Overnight reports: US bolsters Middle East presence; exercises in Bosnia underway

- American National Guard contingent arrived in Bosnia and Herzegovina on Tuesday and will conduct a series of exercises with the Bosnian army over the next week, the BiH Ministry of Defence announced. By 8th April, a series of activities in logistics support and public relations will take place, allowing members of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina to gain experience and adopt best practices used by the US army, the ministry's statement added.
- The United States is sending a second aircraft carrier to the Middle East to protect trade routes and promote stability in the region. The Pentagon announced that the carrier Carl Vinson, which is currently in the Indo-Pacific region, will join the Harry S. Truman.
- On Tuesday afternoon, near Bergen, a light aircraft probably crashed into the sea, potentially with four people on board. A rescue operation is on-going. The wreckage has not yet been discovered. Rescue operation coordinator Inspector Frank Listoel told TV2 that witnesses have come forward, informing police they saw the aircraft crash into the sea's surface.
- On Tuesday, the Turkish prosecutor’s office initiated an investigation into individuals promoting a boycott of companies and media associated with President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's government on social media and traditional media, according to a statement from the prosecutor's office in Istanbul.
- Spanish citizens who possess a physical ID card can also use its digital version on their mobile phones starting Wednesday, Spanish Minister of the Interior Fernando Grande-Marlaska announced at a Tuesday press conference.
