- In the crash of Jeju Air's South Korean Boeing 737-8AS passenger plane, which occurred on Sunday while landing at Muan Airport with 175 passengers and 6 crew members on board, at least 85 people have died - announced the Yonhap agency.
- North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, during a plenary session of the Workers' Party of Korea's central committee, announced the adoption of the "toughest" strategy towards the USA and its allies, South Korea and Japan - reported state television KCNA on Sunday.
- A high-speed passenger train collided with a fire engine at a crossing in Florida, resulting in three firefighters and at least a dozen train passengers being injured.
- Criminologists from South Africa and Zambia fear that about 6,000 criminals who escaped from a high-security prison in Mozambique a few days ago are likely already trying to cross into neighbouring countries to continue their activities.
