The Vatican also announced that a text of reflections prepared by the Pope for the prayer will be published. This continues the tradition from previous Sundays when Francis, despite his stay in hospital, shared his thoughts with the faithful.

In recent days, information has surfaced about the gradual improvement in the Pope's health as he battles bilateral pneumonia. Despite the illness, Francis remains in contact with the faithful, highlighting his commitment and care for the Catholic community.

The health condition of Pope Francis

Pope Francis has been struggling with health problems for some time, which forced his hospitalisation. In February 2025, he was admitted to the Gemelli Polyclinic due to pneumonia. Despite initial concerns, his health is gradually improving, as confirmed by the latest communications from the Vatican. Night-time mechanical ventilation has been suspended, and the need for oxygen therapy has been reduced.

The Pope's illness has impacted his schedule, forcing the cancellation of many audiences. Nonetheless, the Pope is striving to participate in important events, such as the Mass marking the 12th anniversary of his pontificate. The Vatican reports that the Pope feels better thanks to physical therapy, which gives hope for his full recovery.
