Putin accuses Kyiv of truce violations amid ongoing tensions
During his speech, Vladimir Putin accused Kyiv of repeatedly violating the agreement not to attack energy facilities. Meanwhile, the Russians themselves continue the shelling. He also spoke about the breach of the Easter truce.
The Russian leader made a statement to the media, summarising the international events he participated in over recent days in connection with the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II. He devoted the second part of his speech to the war in Ukraine.
He accused Kyiv of breaking the Easter truce. He said that the Easter truce initiated by Russia was also not upheld. The ceasefire was violated by Ukrainian forces nearly 5,000 times.
He also referred to the moratorium on attacks on energy facilities. Putin stated that the Kyiv regime demonstratively violated approximately 130 times the 30-day moratorium on attacks on energy facilities from 18th March to 17th April, which was announced in accordance with agreement with US President Donald Trump.
Russians break agreements
As a result of talks between US President Donald Trump and Russian leader Vladimir Putin, it was agreed to halt attacks on energy infrastructure by Russia and Ukraine.
However, the Russians repeatedly broke this agreement. An example is the attack on the energy infrastructure of the Sumy region. At the same time, Russia continues attacks on civilian facilities in Ukraine.
