Much of the information provided by Russian media or government representatives is an element of propaganda. Such reports are part of the information war conducted by the Russian Federation.

— It will happen at the right time. We must prepare, — emphasized Putin's spokesperson, quoted by the Kremlin agency TASS. Peskov also admitted that Witkoff's visit to Russia last Friday is a step towards the meeting of the presidents.

— There will certainly be a further step towards this meeting — he noted.

Peskov also indicated that Russian-American relations are moving in the right direction. - Actually, everything is going very well - he said. The spokesperson for Vladimir Putin, however, noted that this is a difficult and arduous process. - Reviving relations practically from scratch is very challenging, requiring very intensive diplomatic and other efforts - he emphasised.

Trump on a step forward

In a similar tone, Donald Trump also spoke about mutual relations. Trump assessed that it turned out to be an interesting weekend, and it seems there’s some fairly positive progress regarding a few conflicts. He referred to Witkoff's talks with Putin and Saturday's discussions of his envoy with the Iranian Foreign Minister in Oman.

The American representative also referred to the war itself. In his view, it seems like the situation between Ukraine and Russia might be heading in a positive direction, though the outcome will become clearer soon. There comes a point where words need to give way to action. Time will tell, but for now, it appears to be progressing well.

Meanwhile, at least 24 people were killed and another 84 were injured in a Russian attack on Sumy.
