Qatar gifts opulent boeing 747‑8 to Trump administration
"I mean, I could be a stupid person say, 'No, we don't want a free, very expensive airplane,'" said Donald Trump on Monday, when asked at a conference about Qatar's intentions to give Washington a luxurious Boeing 747-8.
"I think it’s a great gesture from Qatar. I appreciate it very much," said Trump when asked whether Qatar expects something in return. "I would never be one to turn down that kind of an offer. I mean, I could be a stupid person say, ‘No, we don’t want a free, very expensive airplane.’ But it was — I thought it was a great gesture," stated the President of the USA.
Luxurious Boeing from Qatar for the USA
"The Qatari government graciously offered to transfer the plane to the Department of Defense. The legal details are still being worked out," said White House spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt in an interview with Fox News. The day before, ABC News reported that Donald Trump is ready to accept the luxurious Boeing 747-8 as a gift from the Qatari authorities.
This would be the most expensive gift from a foreign country in US history. The aircraft would initially serve as the presidential plane, Air Force One, and later be transferred to a foundation for the presidential library.
