Qatar's royal jet transforms into opulent Air Force One
Qatar has transferred its royal jet, a Boeing 747-8 Jumbo Jet, to the US Air Force. The aircraft is set to serve President Donald Trump as a temporary Air Force One. Previously, it was used by the Qatari royal family.
US President Donald Trump has received a luxurious Boeing 747 from the Qatari royal family, which will serve as a temporary Air Force One. The jet, formerly in service with the governmental Qatar Amiri Flight, is nothing short of a valuable flying palace. Until now, it catered for VIPs and the Qatari royal family. The plane, valued at approximately $400 (£303) million, is more akin to a royal estate than a presidential suite among private jets.
The luxury aircraft carried only the most important people in Qatar
The aircraft served as a luxury means of transport for the most significant individuals in Qatar. On board, there are, among other things, a master bedroom, guest bedroom, two full bathrooms with showers, and five small kitchens. This model of jet can accommodate up to 14 crew members and 90 passengers, which is relatively small compared to the standard capacity of 400 passengers. The interior was designed by the French company Alberto Pinto Cabinet, ensuring the highest standard of finish. The customisation process was overseen by AMAC Aerospace.
What else does the Boeing 747 conceal that is unique in its equipment? This model includes several servers, a specially prepared network, monitoring systems, moving maps, live television, insulating blankets, and electric blinds. Naturally, there is no shortage of hot water. This is part of the layout of the royal jet, previously shared with the media by AMAC Aerospace.
The future Air Force One will undergo security-focused modernisation
Trump has been awaiting new planes from Boeing to replace the current Air Force One. However, production delays and budget overruns forced him to accept Qatar's offer. Trump wrote on Truth Social that the Boeing 747-8 will temporarily serve as Air Force One. The new plane, although older, offers more luxury and modern amenities than the current model.
Before entering service, the plane will undergo modernisation under the supervision of the American defence company L3Harris, which will ensure the installation of security and communication systems. This will allow Donald Trump to use it as a mobile command centre in the event of a crisis.
The Boeing 747-8, despite being over 10 years old, is one of the most luxurious planes in the world. Its interior resembles the style of Trump Tower, with opulent decorations and gold accents.
