Romanian airspace breached amid Russian drone incursion
At night, during the Russian attack on Ukraine, Romanian airspace was breached, Reuters reported on Friday, citing the Romanian Ministry of Defence.
Romanian airspace was violated during a nighttime Russian attack on Ukraine. According to the NEXTA Agency, citing the local Ministry of Defence, drone debris was found in the Tulcea district.
The Romanian Air Force responded by dispatching two F-16 aircraft from the base in Borcea at 1:35 AM GMT to monitor the situation. After two hours, the planes returned to the base.
Drone traces
Near the village of Plauru, close to the border with Ukraine, "possible drone crash site" were discovered. The area has been secured, and an investigation is ongoing.
According to the Ukrainska Pravda portal, the Russians attacked port infrastructure in Izmail in the Odesa region. There are no casualties, but several buildings have been damaged. The village of Plauru is about 300 metres from Izmail.
Russian attack
Over 130 combat clashes were carried out by Ukrainian troops in the last 24 hours on the war fronts with Russia, with most occurring near the besieged city of Pokrovsk in the Donetsk region, reported the General Staff in Kyiv on Friday morning.
According to the DeepState project, which provides the latest reports from the battle lines and marks troop positions on the front line map, the Russians have seized three villages south of Pokrovsk.
The city, which had about 60,000 residents at the beginning of 2022, is a strategic logistical hub for the Ukrainian army. The Russian forces aim to encircle it.
