Russia issues in‑absentia arrest for Ukrainian SBU head Hrytsak
The head of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), Vasyl Hrytsak, has been arrested in absentia in Russia, sparking comments from Hrytsak regarding the decision by a Moscow court.

A Moscow court has imposed an in-absentia arrest on Hrytsak for two months as part of criminal proceedings under the charge of "public incitement to terrorist acts, their public justification, or the promotion of terrorism," according to rbc.ua.
The TASS news agency, controlled by the Kremlin, has underlined that this decision is not connected to the recent terrorist attack at the Crocus City Hall in Krasnogorsk, a suburb of Moscow. In that incident, at least 137 people were killed, and over 180 were injured. The Islamic State Khorasan Province, the Afghan branch of the Islamic State (IS) group, has claimed responsibility for the attack.
There are unofficial media claims linking the SBU head with "organizing an attack on the Crimean Bridge in 2022".

Addressing the Russian court's decision, the head of the Ukrainian Security Services stated, "the Kremlin's manoeuvre, utilizing puppet judges, is unworthy of attention."
"Like all Ukrainians, my sole focus is on one trial—the trial against their leader 'Putler' (a derogatory combination of Putin and Hitler - ed.). We are fully committed to bringing this war criminal before The Hague as swiftly as possible," he declared.
