"The enemy has captured Kurakhove and is advancing towards Andriivka, Solone, and Novosilka," DeepState wrote on Telegram, attaching a map showing the progress of Russian forces.

Russians have captured Kurakhove. The city holds strategic significance

According to authorities in Moscow, capturing Kurakhove will significantly hinder Ukrainian forces' logistical and technical support at the front.

Kurakhove is located south of Pokrovsk, a key logistical hub for the Ukrainian army.

Apart from its military significance, the city is important due to the dam of the water reservoir located there, which serves a thermal power plant. Before Russia's full-scale invasion that began in February 2022, approximately 18,000 people lived in Kurakhove.
