According to the Telegram channel "Vojevoda Vyeshayet," it was observed a year ago that Ukrainian pilots were flying with American HGU-56P helmets.

"It's a very good helmet. It's much better than our ZSh-7V because it's armoured," the channel's host wrote.

"My good friends, Russians from the USA, provided me with 10 such helmets at the beginning of the war", he emphasised.

The helmets will be given to Russian pilots

The channel's author modified the helmets to integrate them with Russian systems. To assist, he requested soldiers retrieve equipment from Ukrainian pilots in helicopters that crashed in areas occupied by Russia.

"Voyevoda" noted that he now intends to hand over the modified helmets to "our best pilots" of Ka-52 helicopters. He added that he does not plan to purchase more, as they are "very expensive."
