Simple solutions to keep your home dust-free and healthy
Dust is an inseparable part of every home, affecting the aesthetics of interiors and our health. Here are proven methods to help you effectively reduce its presence.
Dust is a mixture of fine organic and inorganic particles that float in the air. Its presence can be harmful to health, especially for people with allergies. In homes, dust accumulates on furniture, appliances, and hard-to-reach places like radiators. Regular cleaning is essential, but there are also home methods to help reduce it.
Win the fight with dust
Dust consists of tiny fragments of skin, fibres, plant residues, hair, sand, and dirt. It is also a living environment for bacteria and, more importantly, harmful mites.
One of the simplest ways to reduce dust is to use fabric conditioner. This liquid prevents dust from settling on surfaces thanks to its antistatic properties. It will slow down dust accumulation and leave a pleasant fragrance in the room.
Simply wipe the furniture
It is not recommended to use the fabric conditioner alone to wipe furniture. To make this method effective, you need to prepare a simple mixture, which is very easy to make. You need a spray bottle with a capacity of about 450 millilitres, boiled water, and fabric conditioner. First, pour water into the bottle, then add half a cap of fabric conditioner. Close the bottle and shake it vigorously to mix the ingredients.
Remember that this mixture does not contain cleaning agents, so it should only be used on clean surfaces. Do not spray directly onto furniture or appliances. Instead, moisten a microfibre cloth and gently wipe the chosen area. This will slow down dust accumulation and introduce a pleasant scent to your home. For long-lasting results, use this method every six to seven days.
Another way to reduce dust is to regularly air rooms. For homes with allergy sufferers, an air purifier will be helpful. This device effectively removes pollutants and allergens from the air. Regular vacuuming and mopping are basic activities that help fight against dust.
