Sophie Turner returns to the UK with daughters after custody win

As reported by British media, "Game of Thrones" actress Sophie Turner plans to permanently return to her home country with her children after resolving a custody dispute with her ex-husband, Joe Jonas. The children will remain with their mother, despite the controversy she faced.

Sophie Turner (29) and Joe Jonas (35) separated in 2023 after four years of marriage, during which they raised their two daughters, Willa (4) and Delphine (2). Following their breakup, the couple became embroiled in a dispute over where their children should reside. Initially, they intended to share custody, but the situation became complicated when Sophie accused Joe of keeping the daughters in the US without their passports.

The divorce of Turner and Jonas

According to the "Daily Mail," the dispute was resolved in January 2024 as part of the divorce proceedings, and Sophie is preparing to move back to the UK with her daughters. The actress is currently looking for schools for them, and the girls are set to live with her permanently in the UK.

Since October 2023, Sophie has been seeing Peregrine Pearson (aged 30), the son and heir of the Viscount Cowdray. The couple made their public debut in February 2024 during the Stanley Zhu Year of the Dragon celebration in London.

After "Game of Thrones," Sophie starred in the ITV series "Joan" and in the adaptation of "The Staircase" alongside Colin Firth. Rumour has it she is being considered for the role of Lara Croft in a new adaptation. Her work was highlighted soon after news of the divorce emerged. The media speculated that Turner was focusing on work and socialising, neglecting her role as a mother. She was blamed for the breakdown of the marriage, which she addressed in an interview:

"There were some days that I didn’t know if I was going to make it. I would call my lawyer saying, ‘I can’t do this. I just can’t.’ I was just never strong enough to stand up for myself. And then, finally, after two weeks of me being in a rut, she reminded me that it was my children I was fighting for. Once anyone says to me, ‘Do it for your kids,’ I’m doing it. I wouldn’t do it for myself, but I’ll find the strength for them."

She shared that when the divorce news leaked, she was contracted for two weeks on the set of a new production and couldn't return to her children. In the media, she was portrayed as a bad mother. "It hurt because I really do completely torture myself over every move I make as a mother — mum guilt is so real!," she said.

Joe Jonas continues his music career with his brothers, Kevin and Nick. The Jonas Brothers recently celebrated the 20th anniversary of their debut album by organising a fan convention in New Jersey. They are soon embarking on a world tour, with plans to release a new album and the Disney film "A Very Jonas Christmas."

Joe also announced his second solo album, "Music for People Who Believe In Love," which will be released at the end of May. In an interview with the "Hollywood Reporter," he admitted that his breakup inspires some songs with Sophie, but emphasised: "I’m not trying to put stuff on blast. I have a beautiful life that I’m grateful for. I’ve got two beautiful kids. I’m a happy person, and the music needed to resemble that — but also, the journey to get here I’m not trying to put stuff on blast. I have a beautiful life that I’m grateful for. I’ve got two beautiful kids. I’m a happy person, and the music needed to resemble that — but also, the journey to get here."
