Prime Minister Keir Starmer initially travelled to Washington for discussions with Donald Trump and then hosted Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at Downing Street, just a day after a heated dispute at the White House.

The next day, Starmer welcomed leaders from European nations, Canada, and senior officials from the EU and NATO.

This diplomatic round has bolstered support for Starmer. According to the YouGov survey, the percentage of Britons viewing the prime minister positively has risen to 31%, up from 26% in mid-February. In recent months, Starmer has confronted several issues, including those related to migration.

Trump loses, Zelensky gains

Simultaneously, 80% of Britons view Donald Trump negatively. 73% of respondents expressed critical views about the US President two weeks ago.

The media points out that Trump has lost support even among right-wing Reform UK voters. Since mid-February, the percentage of these individuals with an unfavourable opinion of the US President has increased by 25 percentage points to 53%.

The percentage of Britons who viewed Volodymyr Zelensky positively rose from 64% to 71%. The most notable change was among Reform UK voters—in mid-February, 49% held a positive view of the Ukrainian President, and it is now 62%. Thus, Zelensky has become more popular among right-wing voters in the UK than Donald Trump.
