Teenager in high-speed chase claims he was "living in GTA"
Police officers engaged in a wild chase with a 19-year-old. The young man thought escaping from the police was like living in Grand Theft Auto.
Ardent opponents of video games can add another extreme case to their arguments "against." Police in the USA apprehended a teenager who was driving recklessly around town, breaking numerous traffic laws and filming his illegal driving spree. The 19-year-old had a firearm and claimed that he was "in GTA."
According to media reports, the young man did not stop when ordered by a police officer but instead ran a red light, accelerated, and continued his daring driving. In a built-up area, he exceeded the speed of 95 km/h (roughly 60 mph). For safety reasons, the officer abandoned the chase; however, authorities secured video evidence a month after the incident, which occurred at the end of February. The suspect is excited about the escape in the video and enjoys "being in GTA."
"I’m in GTA, bro"
In the first video, the suspect is seen fleeing from the police, ignoring the command to stop. In the second, supposedly while holding a pistol, he said to the camera: "I’m in GTA, bro." The third video shows a shot of a police car in the rear-view mirror.
The cunning suspect removed the brown film from his car to avoid being caught. Changing the car's colour was supposed to confuse the police—the car turned into an average silver sedan. It is unknown if the young man used Pay 'n' Spray, but authorities have such suspicions.
The 19-year-old was charged with failing to stop at a police officer's signal, obstructing traffic, creating a road hazard, reckless driving, and using a phone while driving.
Will there be more such incidents just before the release of GTA 6?
