In April, 5,475 new Tesla vehicles were registered compared to 11,540 in April 2023. In the first four months of this year, 41,677 Tesla cars were registered in the EU compared to 77,314 the year before, marking a 46.1% decline.

Overall, Tesla's share of the European vehicle market shrank year-on-year in April to 0.6% (a decrease of 0.5%).

The echoes of Musk’s activities

Tesla began losing its electric vehicle market share when Elon Musk became involved in political activities during Donald Trump's administration.

Elon Musk recently announced that his activities with DOGE, the Department of Government Efficiency, are coming to an end. At the same time, he declared a "full commitment" to his companies, highlighting the need for significant improvements in the social networking site X.

"Back to spending 24/7 at work and sleeping in conference/server/factory rooms," wrote Elon Musk in a post on X, responding to reports about outages of the former Twitter.
