Tragedy in Bali: Falling branch claims two tourists in Ubud

An unfortunate accident occurred in the popular Monkey Forest park in Ubud, Bali. As a result, two tourists lost their lives: a 32-year-old French woman and a 42-year-old Korean woman.

The two women lost their lives when a huge branch fell on them in Monkey Forest. The tragedy occurred on Tuesday, December 10, around 5:00 PM GMT.

A large branch fell on tourists in Monkey Forest

Witnesses report that they suddenly heard a crack, and then large branches fell to the ground. Local police indicate that there were strong gusts of wind and rain at the time of the accident.

The reserve management maintains that the fallen branch was in good condition and that regular tree inspections and maintenance are carried out.

Chief Commissioner of Police in Ubud, Gusti Nyoman Sudarsana, stated that all individuals involved in the incident, both the deceased and injured, were immediately transported to Kenak Medika Hospital in Ubud for medical assistance.

A few seconds later, footage from surveillance shows the chaos that ensued when the gigantic branch hit the ground.
