Tragic plane crash in South Sudan claims 20 lives, including foreign nationals
On Wednesday in South Sudan, a plane crash occurred, resulting in the deaths of at least 20 people, regional authorities reported, as quoted by Reuters. The tragedy took place in Unity State, with 21 passengers and crew members on board.

Among the fatalities were two Chinese citizens and one Indian citizen. This was confirmed by Gatwech Bipal from the Ministry of Information and Communication of Unity State. The causes of the accident are not yet known.
According to UN radio station Radio Miraya, the crash occurred in the central part of the country. The plane was servicing one of the oil fields. South Sudan, being in a state of civil war, has experienced several similar aviation tragedies in recent years.

In 2018, an accident involving a small plane flying from the country's capital, Juba, to the city of Yirol resulted in the deaths of at least 19 people. In 2015, a Russian cargo plane crashed after taking off from Juba airport, killing dozens.
In March of last year, a transport plane flying from Juba crashed at Malakal airport. There were seven people on board, but fortunately, no one was injured.
