Travelling often involves the dilemma of what to pack to avoid exceeding baggage limits. This issue arises particularly when we travel with only hand luggage. In such cases, every inch and gram in our backpack or travel bag becomes crucial.

An interesting trick

One Reddit user shared an idea that helps save space in the suitcase. He described his method as a "life-changer". "Instead of packing pyjamas to sleep in and taking up space, I always buy a T-shirt at my destination that’s useful during the trip and serves as a practical souvenir," the tourist wrote.

This idea gained approval from some Reddit users. "Very clever! Thanks for sharing," one person admitted. "I plan to use this trick on my next trip," added another.

However, not everyone was convinced by this idea. One commenter noted that new clothes might irritate the skin due to chemicals used in the manufacturing process. "I can't imagine wearing clothes without washing them first," the traveller wrote. Others also pointed out that good quality T-shirts can be rather expensive in some places.

Original souvenirs

The forum also featured other interesting souvenir ideas. One user admitted to trying to get a tattoo in each place visited, which, however, sparked much controversy among others. Another tourist revealed that they visit local bookshops to buy books and create a unique library at home. Another person admitted that they always buy souvenirs in shops where the profits go to charitable causes or try to find markets and other similar venues where their purchase will help someone.
