Trump to discuss ceasefire with Putin amid ongoing conflict
Donald Trump intends to speak with Vladimir Putin. The conversation is scheduled to take place on Monday at 3:00 PM Greenwich Mean Time, as announced by the US president on social media.

"I will be speaking, by telephone, to president Vladimir Putin of Russia on Monday, at 10 AM," Trump wrote on Truth Social. "The subjects of the call will be, stopping the 'bloodbath,' that is killing, on average, more than 5,000 Russian and Ukrainian soldiers a week, and trade," he indicated.
Furthermore, Trump informed that after talking with Putin, he will call Volodymyr Zelensky, and then together they will speak with NATO leaders. However, the American president did not specify which leaders he intends to speak with.
"Hopefully it will be a productive day, a ceasefire will take place, and this very violent war, a war that should have never happened, will end," he added.
Failed talks in Istanbul
On Friday in Istanbul, the first Ukrainian-Russian negotiations in three years took place. The talks did not result in a breakthrough.
The delegations only agreed on the exchange of prisoners and that there will be another meeting.
